One of the most entertaining, laugh-out-loud threads I've read in a long, long time. Some jerkoff on NSXPrime apparently owns a few gambling sites, and somehow thought it would be a good idea to surreptitiously promote his little enterprise there.
Hilarity ensues.... http://www.nsxprime.com/forums/showthread.php?t=98489 |

I have a supercharged 2005 NSX with racing headers and comptech exhaust, and it is in FACT the shit.
Best sports car I've ever owned.

i've been acurowned.
the fact that the car would have been lighter if the designer had stuck to chromoly steel instead of aluminum never bugged you? thats what bugged me, mind you if i had big money, i would have a lot of cars that could be called flawed. |

aluminum is lighter than steel.
that's why airplane fuselages are aluminum, not steel. in fact, the NSX was ahead of its time in introducing an all aluminum body (among other firsts, like VTEC and crap) |

The dude that designed the NSX said in a long article in Car and Driver that because of the lesser structural rigidity of the aluminum, he could have used significantly less material had he just stuck to good old steel, thus lowering the weight. but thanks for the hot tip.
EDIT: I was a huge NSX fan until I read that. Then I fell out of lust with it. |

not so much the hydraulic lifter tech, but the use of variable valve timing (VVT).
NSX engine was the first to use VVT (considered way ahead of its time in 1990) |

it is sooo fucking hard to work/find people that can work on an NSX with the engine placement, but the mid engine is great for the handling
I love everything about these cars, and to the everyday man that is uneducated in the field of cars, they are over a decade old that still look like a concept car from italy

in all fairness, that might be what Joe's NSX looks like, but the stock ones i see cruising here aren't nearly that cool.

510 i liked because i think it was the first rwd with idependant rear suspension.
take a jag rear end, cut it down (brakes are on the dif not in the wheel) put that in. get fiberglass instead of sheet metal wherever you can on the car. drop a rotary enigine in it that has been worked up. bango, 150-300 hp in a tiny little 1200lbs car. My personal fav car of all time is my 1989 325i that my dad drives now. Seriously the ballsiest little beast ever, handles like its on rails, sounds amazing, and still blows me away how nice it looks compared to all its big brothers and sisters. |
