A family is claiming that their kid remembers his past life. And unlike the other thousands of times people have claimed this, it's totally legit.

science can't explain it so it can't be true.

I have no idea who would say such a ridiculous thing. There's no end to the number of things science has yet to explain.

i think it's entirely possible for some - maybe not all - souls to be reincarnated.

Yanno, I think that's a ton weirder than just thinking that all souls are reincarnated.

Wic, that is funny.

I'm still coping with the idea that all our reincarnated lives are potentially being lived at once.

I read Seth's The Nature of Personal Reality a long time ago and it really freaked me out.

Just the part about all lives at once thing.

I was completely fine with everything else...

well, yeah. you can get down with the collective consciousness thing, or you can get down with some souls finding their "way home" while some are left to get it right. it could explain the steady decline of humanity - the good souls are off relaxing.

or that sudden traumatic deaths kill off the body before the spirit has a chance to leave the earthly plane.

i'm sure there's plenty of theories behind it. hell, waking life covers about 50 of them.

Except there seems to be a trend in the exact opposite direction.

That would be an awful lot of spirits. I would imagine millions of people remembering past lives.

What would happen to the spirit meant to go into the body? Or does a person die, and then wait for 9 months for one to pop out? How does it travel around? Are radio waves interfering with them? Did I just lay 6 million souls out on a paper towel last night?

very bill hicks of you.

i'm talking the trend of humanity, not technology. and yeah, you can definitely make a case for uptech=downhumanity.

i don't have answers, i have ideas. i also think that it's possible-not-probable for an individual to control their own afterlife, but maybe that's just because i'd like to think it.

I never said anything about technology. There is no case to make saying that the morality of humanity is going down. Maybe you'd like to ask a 70 year old black man in Alabama how his childhood was.

Well, I know some people who are clairvoyant, some clairaudient, some who often have visions while meditating, have out-of-body experiences, etc, and according to some of the information they were given by various beings out there (and also according to information given in channelings), we apparently choose our own parents before incarnating, and there are no specific amounts of time we need to wait before coming back into this world... Apparently some decide to come back a short time after they died, while some wait for many years. Well, first of all, according to them, the universe we live in is actually multidimensional, in the sense that there are many 'levels', parallel dimensions/universes if you will, each located in its own frequency band, in a similar way to the electromagnetic spectrum I guess. And that while some people reincarnate here, others apparently leave for other dimensions, some go to other places in the universe, incarnate on other planets, etc, etc...
