Default Microsoft taking Modern Warfare 2 piracy very seriously

Microsoft has come out in response to the rumors that Modern Warfare 2 had leaked to the dirty hands of pirates and are apparently dedicated to keeping the digital scallywags at bay. “Our commitment to combating piracy and support safer and more secure gameplay for the more than 20 million members of our Xbox Live community remains a top priority,” Microsoft assured the community when contacted about the Modern Warfare 2 leak.

The recent removal of the support for 3rd party memory devices was attributed as a step to prevent piracy and cheaters, and when combined with this latest statement from Microsoft, it is pretty clear that they’re dedicated to fight this tiresome battle. “All consumers should know that piracy is illegal and that modifying their Xbox 360 console to play pirated discs violates the Xbox Live terms of use, will void their warranty and result in a ban from Xbox Live. The health of the video game business depends on customers paying for the genuine products and services they receive from manufacturers, retailers, and the third parties that support them,” Microsoft continued.

The statement goes on even further to restate their vigorous aggression towards pirates and oh yes, don’t mod your 360 as it will void the warranty, “We take vigorous action against illegal activity related to our products and services, but we do not comment on those details. How so? (It only works against the other team BTW.)

It depends on how many kills it takes to get it. I honestly don't think I'll have it or the nuke(25 kills) equipped as a kill streak in any of my classes. Maybe in one in case just the right game comes across.

The only thing negative about the EMP I could see is that it doesn't initially give you kills. It helps your entire team. Which is cool, but if your playing with a bunch of random fucks it's kinda ghey.

fuck man, i can't believe they banned external memory. i had no idea. that is definitely one thing that the hackers got taken away from the common man.....but playing this right now while everyone is itching is prolly worth it anyways.

i'm thinking in a random pub match something like an EMP or Nuke is more for the bragging rights/a conversation piece. especially the nuke since you can't have any other kill streaks with it. it's like a "look at me, bitches, i just raped your whole fucking team because i'm superman. now superman is gonna nuke your ass."

and based on the score in that video and what i've seen of the other kill streaks, it looks like the EMP is a 15 kill streak. so it's not as astronomical as the nuke and it's a little more practical. i could see it being useful in a game like headquarters or even domination.

Default Infinity Ward: Modern Warfare 2's PC Critics Are A "Loud Minority"
from bigdownload.com ............ Many members of the media have been trying to get a hold of Infinity Ward to clarify their decisions regarding the PC port of Modern Warfare 2. Kotaku managed to get the developer's community manager Robert Bowling on the horn but unfortunately he didn't address the issues PC gamers have had with the upcoming shooter directly (no dedicated servers, no word on mod support, etc).

Instead Bowling generalized their decisions regarding the PC version, saying once again they wanted to make the game more accessible to the average player. He dismissed the people who have complained about the changes as a loud minority saying, "We have 14 million players on Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare. The hardcore gamers make up a smaller core of that, and PC gamers are the smallest group of that core. It is a very vocal community and they are all online."

Bowling also feels that because their community is so highly invested in their games, " . . . we should justify every design decision to them." However he also feels that the developer shouldn't be held to those demands completely, saying, "We know our game very well. Some of the stuff you have to put in there and have faith in your design. Some things don't sound good out of context. You don't see the beauty of them until you experience them for yourselves." When asked if the next Modern Warfare game would even be made for the PC, Bowing dodged the question saying that they don't know what their next game will be.

I dont have much time to play video games and I'm enjoying borderlands.. i figure ill save 5 bucks and when im sick of borderlands I can pick it up for cheaper (given i get lucky and the store actually has a used copy)

dont get me wrong, im pumped as all hell to play this game but after waiting 2 years a few weeks won't kill me

I dont have much time to play video games and I'm enjoying borderlands.. i figure ill save 5 bucks and when im sick of borderlands I can pick it up for cheaper (given i get lucky and the store actually has a used copy)

dont get me wrong, im pumped as all hell to play this game but after waiting 2 years a few weeks won't kill me
you and i live two very different lives sir, theres a nice bridge i know of, if i dont get my game the day it's released.

and i thought the 5 bux for the preorder went towards the game..? could be wrong but either way it'll save a life
