Peter Snejbjerg is backing the normal team up on #13 and 14.

I didn't mind the art particularly, but I thought this arc was a bit weak in general (relative to the earlier issues). Just didn't come together as well as the others, IMO.

Oak, thanks a bunch for keeping me updated on Messiah Complex, I really appreciate it.

Brief description:

After the Mutant population was reduced to merely 200 by the Scarlet Witch, desperate times have brought on little hope for the future. When a new mutant is born, the X-Teams and various foes are thrown into a race to capture, protect, or kill the baby. This is the first major X-Event in over a decade, with traitors, deaths, plot twists, and huge surprises.

Wolverine
This post will act as a catch-all for all Wolverine uploads and will grow over time - I will make regular posts noting when it is updated.

Wolverine - Volume 1
4-issue limited series. Sold droves, and was a winning experiment.

http://www.megaupload.com/?d=QG9OWJAT - 18MB

Wolverine - Volume 2
His first monthly series - ran from 1988 to 2003 for 189 regular issues and 6 annuals - and varies quite a bit from crap to excellent - but if not for the likability of the character, it probably would have died off during several times along the way. Files say Volume 1 - cause I forgot about the initial limited series above.

- Issues #1 - 65 - http://www.megaupload.com/?d=0NH46MFD -- 262MB
- Issues #66 - 100 - http://www.megaupload.com/?d=UH389HBX -- 322MB
- Issues #101 - 140 - http://www.megaupload.com/?d=EHITOC3Z -- 303MB
- Issues #141 - 170 - http://www.megaupload.com/?d=FPMCHLVP -- 197MB
- Issues #171 - 189 and Annuals - http://www.megaupload.com/?d=2W9ZNL5B -- 263MB

Wolverine v3 - Ongoing Series
This is the ongoing current series - up to issue 61 as of Jan, 08. It picked up right where v2 finished off - in mid-2003.

#1 - 30 - http://www.megaupload.com/?d=8IGY87K2 -- 312MB
#31 - 61 and Annual #1 - http://www.megaupload.com/?d=66KDDHMK - 386MB

Wolverine Origins - Ongoing Series
Wolverine has enough fans to sell two monthly books - and his origin/past is interesting enough to have a regular series dedicated to it. This series started in mid 2006 and is still going. Drawn by Steve Dillon (from Preacher) - so if you ever wanted to see Wolverine with a Jesse Custer look (since everyone Dillon draws looks pretty much like that) - here ya go.

#1 - 21 and Annual #1 - http://www.megaupload.com/?d=GOOIVO03 -- 295MB

Wolverine Origin - 6 Issue Limited Series
Tells the story of wolverine when he was a kid growing up. Very enjoyable read (someone will have to tell me if this is because of my like of the character or because it was actually written well -- I'm hoping for the latter).

Wolverine post has been heavily updated (just above) with all long-run series. To most people, I'd recommend you just start with v3 and Origins unless you are a child of the 90's and want to be nostalgic.

Demon, Blood of the Demon, and a Punisher update are in the queue, then the Wolverine post will be expanded with limited series and one-shots.

Ok - I just added another bit to the Wolverine post - a very good 6-issue series for anyone looking to see the childhood origin of the man with the bad side-burns.

Also - a couple of updates:

Fell #9 - by Warren Ellis

The other 3 issues are here: http://forums.joerogan.net/showpost.php?p=1536045&postcount=513 These are the guys who did The Girls - which is another very solid thing in this thread. Not sure about The Sword yet, but it is getting rolling now.

I'm personally not a huge fan of the New X-Men title. A bit of it looks to be helmed from the old Generation X team, but I could be wrong. The characters seem really disposable to me too for whatever reason. I'm really only keeping up with it because its more about the Messiah Complex crossover than it is the title's roster.

I grew up with the X-titles though and its weird for me to be back into reading comics without reading them.

This week seemed slow on KL by the way. Like, 8-9 DC & image titles scanned? Is this the beginning of the end?

This week seemed slow on KL by the way. Like, 8-9 DC & image titles scanned? Is this the beginning of the end?

8-9? I see like 50 new scans for the week so far between DCP and the Minutemen on my source - probably about 2/3rds of what will be scanned -- I guess it is pretty marvel heavy though.

These sites never last in an "anyone can join" and "we're trying to store everything" approach. Something will come out of it, but it will be a pain in the ass to get into. You should get on usenet and/or dc++ - (think I described the latter in this thread somewhere) - those are two sources that don't go away - I've been on the same newsgroups, DC Hubs, and private ftp/sftp sites since I was a wee lad (none for comics, which are a recent addiction).

Usenet and cockroaches are the only things that will survive the eventual regulation of this shit, torrents, most p2p, and forums will always either go through upheaval or will spin off private or niche versions - no one head of the hydra can get too popular without it being chopped off.

Battlechasers was fun to look at. Madureira's work is awesome, but just like Danger Girl and Wildsiderz, he presents a fantastic idea with his artwork and forgets about little details like plot and continuity. I'm not sure how the business works, but if I was such a talented artist, I'd make sure that the book I'm working on will match my skill and will be developed it to it's full potential.

I don't think this comic would have stayed in my memory if I hadn't jerked off to the drawings of Red Monika when I was 14. And that's about all is good for.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Pro_(comics)

A parody of mainstream superhero comics, it details the brief career of a prostitute given superhuman powers by the Viewer (himself a parody of Uatu the Watcher from the Marvel Comics universe) she reluctantly joins the League of Honor

It looks pretty funny, or at least it's short.

I was all set to tell you to read the fucking thread -- assuming I had posted it already.

I should be flogged for not doing so... until now:

Ex Machina - by Brian K. Vaughan and Tony Harris
This is an ongoing creator-owned book - by the guy who wrote Y - The Last Man. It is currently up to issue 34 - and planned for 50 total -- again, it is nice to see creator-driven books with a laid out beginning, middle, and end.

The series shows the life of the world's first and only superhero - both during his past acting as a cape and during the present - which starts a bit after 9/11 when he is elected Mayor of New York City as an independent and lays down the superhero gig.

This series is pretty up-front that it is exploring real-world political/social issues - and overall does a decent job. 9/11 is hit hard, as is gay marriage, pot-smoking, and lots of other stuff.

Good stuff. It just hit a pretty good stopping point so I figure I'd upload the first 34 in a batch - it is at the end of some significant arcs - so you won't feel too bad if you get hooked and have to wait for the last 16.

Frank Miller talking about directing a big screen version of HARD BOILED:

http://moviesblog.mtv.com/2008/04/21/exclusive-frank-miller-in-talks-to-direct-hard-boiled-movie/

Geoff Darrow's incredibly detailed drawing is what made that series for me - Miller didn't have much to do with what I like about Hard Boiled... He claims, "I’ve got a really unusual way I want to do it." -- I hope that isn't using black-and-white with bits of color and what'not.

Has World War Hulk been posted here and I missed it?

Nope. Planet Hulk is in the thread (use the "Search this Thread" link) - but not World War Hulk. If multiple people want it, I will upload it - but I thought it kind of sucked. It had a few moments here and there (largely the ass-kickings in the beginning) - but didn't do it for me. And this whole Skrull Invasion Super Event (tm) is reminding me why I hadn't read cape books for so long.

Right on the money there. I D/L'd it and it wasnt as good as the initial piece on Hulk's banishment to another planet. The idea that they put a bomb on the ship, and Hulk was too "mad" to realize it wasnt the four's fault was too predictable. I liked the initial idea, but it was just too soft. I still read them all however, looking for some good fight scenes. It was simply ok.

I have another question, the Civil War series, I have heard was very good, is that worthy of going after? Does that span all the marvel books? I heard its the best thing Marvel has done in years.

Civil War is a lot better, and in terms of big events - I guess it is the best thing marvel has done in years in that context. The overall plotting/writing of Mark Millar certainly held it together a lot better than most similar stuff. My issue is that the big events all kind of suck ass -- especially when they span most of the titles (which Civil War does).

I wouldn't particularly recommend any of the big event things - but that's mostly because I don't really like that genre. If you like marvel books, and like the big title-spanning events -- then you would like Civil War. It is good for what it is - especially if you stick to the actual Civil War title. Civil War Frontline was surprisingly ok - and Captain America's and Amazing Spiderman's books during the event were pretty good as well -- most of the other title cross-overs were trash with a few exceptions.

Here is a public torrent for Civil War if you download that way:

Of course this is just the original comic from 1967 til present without all the one offs and other titles but that should keep you busy since just the v1 of Iron Man is 332 issues.
Here's a list of all the Iron Man titles (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Iron_Man#List_of_Iron_Man_titles)

Much of it is garbage. v1 from around 120 to 250 is decent if you want an older pile of stuff to kill a weekend on. But most of the good stuff isn't all that good.

Here are some standouts if you want only the above average, IMO of course:

v1 - #120 - 128 - Demon In A Bottle - whoo - alcoholic start!

v1 #163 - 200 - Tony Stark vs. Obadiah Stane - Rhodes is a better iron man. I said it, I like black iron man. Plus this was out when I was a kid.

v1 #225 - 232 - The Armor Wars - good stuff, reading this sort of shows that the civil war ideas were getting kicked around for years, whether Marvel knew it or not. Cap should have beaten his metal ass the first time.

v3 #73 - 78 - The Best Defense

v4 #1-6 - Extremis - Warren Ellis, the best there is, the best there was, the blah blah blah.

The Exterminators (http://www.megaupload.com/?d=5GGR19FZ)

I almost feel bad posting this, as it's a series that got doomed by an ever-dwindling supply of paying readers. Not that people weren't reading, mind you.

It was supposed to be a 50-issue run, but it's been cut to 30. 1-29 are included in the DL, with #30 set to be released in a few weeks.

As for plot synopsis, it goes like this: Henry James is an ex-con who's trying to turn his life around by working for his stepfather's pest-control company. Then there's a massive, triple-crossing, apocalyptic conspiracy-thing involving drugs, corporate greed, lesbians, white supremacists, kung fu Pacific islanders, about a zillion super-intelligent cockroaches, a few Egyptian gods, and a not-insignificant amount of anal rape.

It's pretty solid, but you can tell in places that this is writer Simon Oliver's first book. It feels rushed at times, even before the announced cancellation. Basically, I think he tried to do too much too fast. That having been said, it's smart, it's funny, and it's twisted, and I'll definitely keep an eye out for more of his work. Art's done by a couple of quality guys, primarily Tony Moore (The Walking Dead) and Darick Robertson (Transmetropolitan, The Boys).

Oak seems to be covering all the (worthwhile) current and classic titles so I want to share this little title from 1974 that I just stumpled upon..

Amputee Love

Released by Last Gasp comics (which was a big player in the underground comics industry back in the day) this little 36 page title centers around a lady named Lyn and her journey into the world of amputee sex orgies after a terrible car accident leaves her without a leg, all the while focusing on female empowerment through sex and money!

The story is actually flawed on too many levels to mention, it's real text heavy and only semi well-drawn but god damnit it made me feel real dirty while reading it and that's all that matters in my opinion when it comes to drawn seventees amputee porn..

Here's a rapidshare link courtesy of ߺnε-Prºjεctºr (because I'm lazy that way) (http://rs233.rapidshare.com/files/63157684/Amputee_Love__1__Last_Gasp_.cbr)

Hitman by Garth Ennis has been mentioned a couple of times in this tread but according to my vast resources (the search function and intermediate scrolling) it hasn't been posted here yet. That is a damn shame cause although it kinda got lost in the backround because of Ennis's spectacular concurrent title "Preacher" it has many moments which I consider Ennis's best (The zombie fishes and everything conserning Section 8). So without further ado here are links to "Hitman" that I done stole from the stealers of the scanners of the original comics. (I really have to get into this megaupload thing myself, add another "middle" man).

Hitman is a violent, darkly humoured, sentimental and occasionally romantic comic book published by DC Comics, written by Garth Ennis and illustrated by John McCrea (with one exception). "Hitman" is also the rarely-used codename of the main character of the book, better known as Tommy Monaghan.

Hitman chronicles the exploits of Tommy Monaghan, a contract killer from the Irish part of Gotham City. He first appeared in The Demon Annual #2 (part of the "Bloodlines" crossover in the summer of 1993), where he is bitten by a Bloodlines Parasite. The bite grants him the unexpected powers of x-ray vision and moderate telepathy. He decides to specialize in killing superhumans and supernatural threats.

The series rarely pays attention to this convoluted set-up, though. In the later issues, Tommy would rarely use his powers, even in situations where they could clearly have been of great use, for reasons ranging from a headache to a minor illness. Many times it is mentioned Tommy would receive a migraine if he used his telapthy. (The "protagonist with supernatural abilities he doesn't use" is a theme the writer Garth Ennis also used in the series Preacher, published largely concurrently with Hitman.) Tommy Monaghan is also rarely hired to target actual superhumans, other than dangerous escapees from the local laboratory. The series alternates between down-to-earth antagonists (the Mafia, or British soldiers) and over-the top ones (zombie fish, vampires, and dinosaurs, among others) but, even at its most ridiculous, the characters are realistically portrayed, if not necessarily sympathetic.

anyone got world war hulk ?

I only read the first couple of issues but kinda lost interest since I'm not all that into capes and there seem to be way to many non-sensical characters in the Marvel universe. Hulk has always been a favorite of mine because of his unpredictability and blind rage but in what I read of world war Hulk he was way to level headed and calculated and frankly boring..
However I did find these here links that might help you out:

For a little more bang for your buck you can get this torrent below. It is a chronology of ALL Marvel major events from the original Galactus saga to Annihilation Conquest including Civil war, Planet Hulk and ofcourse entire World War Hulk. I'ts 13.66 gb but with utorrent you can pick and choose files from it at your own leasure.

Some more comic support for Oak..
Not trying to highjack your thread so just tell me if I'm posting to much..
Finaly not just leaching links from others, turns out uploading to megaupload is actually the easiest thing I've ever done once I saw past the ads and flickering gifs.

First the new stuff:

The Sword 08(The_Scangstas-DCP)
http://www.megaupload.com/?d=WOZ5WU5M

The Boys 019 (The_Hoods-DCP)
http://www.megaupload.com/?d=VNIA8H5D

And for something completely different. I love spagetti westerns, especially the classics by Sergio Leone. Went looking for some western themed comics and found two gems each stranger than the other both giving nods to Leone without completely plagirizing his films.

"Fistful of Blood"
http://www.megaupload.com/?d=45HNT2UK

"Yojimbo" collides with "Last Man Standing" in this insane goth horror, spaghetti Western, ripped from the minds and pencils of Kevin Eastman and comic book fan favorite, Simon Bisley.

Deadly and sexy, a voluptuous female gunfighter wanders into an isolated, semi-abandoned "ghost town" deep in the badlands of the American Southwest. She soon finds herself caught in a violent, three-way turf war between desperate zombies, and battling gangs of vampires and zombie outlaws.

This dangerous "bad girl" is quickly forced to put her deadly guns to use in an effort to survive the battle for the soul of the town and save the lives of the innocent caught in the supernatural crossfire. Hot chicks, six guns, and armies of the ghoulish undead - Sergio Leone was never like this!

Gunfigthers in Hell
http://www.megaupload.com/?d=89XIT82W

Written by David Barbour and Joe Vigil this takes the good old "Strong silent type" lone gunman story and takes it for a spin in HELL.. Fuck yea, naked bitch demons and guns that shoot "live" ammo that hungers for flesh. Those who have seen a couple of Leone westerns will recognize a number of setups and the art in this book is insane. One rar file, contains all five issues.

Gunfighters in Hell's text is kinda heavy (f. ex. there is a "Terms of Damnation" in issue 2: a clossary of terms used in the book) plus the art is so detailed and .. well awesome that it's a little heavy to digest considering it's demons shooting each other with six-shooters. But I definately recommend it and anything else by Joe or Tim Virgil.

Fistful of blood is a Heavy Metal book so it's more brainless action w/ huge tits and in a couple of places the story seems rushed (they DID have to fit it into one issue) but it's a funny read and I do love me some zombies.

Crawl Space: XXX Zombies
http://www.megaupload.com/?d=Z5PC2U2X

Welcome to CRAWL SPACE! A new ongoing series in the tradition of TALES FROM THE CRYPT, featuring tales of ghoulish terror!

“XXXOMBIES,” Part One of Three
Eisner nominees KIERON DWYER (REMAINS) and TONY MOORE (THE WALKING DEAD, FEAR AGENT), return to zombie comics with fan favorite writer RICK REMENDER (FEAR AGENT, SEA OF RED) to bring you the last word in zombiesplotaion. It’s 1977, and a sleazy producer has gathered a bevy of adult stars for a weeklong film shoot. When they emerge, they discover a zombie plague has overrun a now-quarantined Los Angeles!

This title really surprised me since it's an Anology title like Tales from the Crypt but it's very funny yet gritty and suspensful. Well drawn and tightly written (keep in mind we are talking about 70's porn stars and zombies so of course there are some leaps in logic) and pushes the envelope on a number of issues like cockgobbling and infant care. I'll be keeping my eye out for future Crawl space titles. One rar file with all four issues.

Any chance this book will get the graphic book update?http://www.headinjurytheater.com/pva%20cover.jpg

on a separate note..does anyone know if the upcoming wolverine flick will introduce the alpha-flite team in Canada? the Shaman may not work so well for the big screen and sasquatch may come off as a poor mans chewbacca, nut jus wondering.http://www.toonopedia.com/uimages/toons/a/alphaflt.jpg A primer for those that dont know what im referring to:Alpha Flight is a team of superhuman Canadian operatives that originated in the private sector with an engineer named James MacDonald Hudson who had developed an exoskeleton to assist in geological exploration. When Hudson learned that the U.S. military had appropriated his invention, he destroyed the plans and made off with the helmet necessary to control the apparatus. Heather McNeil, then executive secretary to Hudson's immediate superior Jerome Jaxon, was shocked by the sudden turn of events and arranged a meeting between Hudson and the Canadian government. Hudson was able to plead his case and the government stepped in to resolve the situation. The Canadian prime minister subsequently invited Hudson to participate in the creation of Department H, a top-secret research and development agency within the country's Ministry of Defense. Hudson married Heather soon after.

Inspired by the debut of the superhuman adventurers the Fantastic Four, Hudson’s first recruit for the team’s first incarnation, code-named the Flight, was the feral mutant, Wolverine who had joined Department H some years earlier as an espionage agent. Wolverine participated in the initial phases of the team’s creation, and after an initial mission against the forces of the criminal mastermind Egghead, it was decided that Wolverine would lead the team. However, for his own reasons, Wolverine left Department H and joined the X-Men, the mutant team formed by Professor Charles Xavier. In Wolverine's stead, Hudson donned a modified version of the exoskeleton he had created and first took the name Weapon Alpha, then Vindicator, then later settled on Guardian. Recruiting five more super-powered champions, the newly formed Alpha Flight initially clashed with the X-Men in an attempt to capture Wolverine, but the two teams later cooperated against the monstrous Wendigo. Alpha Flight subsequently lost government funding, but its members decided to remain operational as freelance adventurers.

do you have League of Extrodinary Gentlemen?

Now this is an awesome read that I actually own in paperform (Except for Vol. 3).. Too bad Hollywood took a shit on it but hey, that only makes the comic even better by comparison...

The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen is a comic book series written by Alan Moore and illustrated by Kevin O'Neill. The series was launched in 1999 as part of the America's Best Comics imprint of Wildstorm Comics. The series spans two six-issue limited series and a hardcover graphic novel, with a third miniseries published by Top Shelf Productions. According to Moore, the initial concept behind the series was initially a "Justice League of Victorian England" but quickly grew into an opportunity to merge all works of fiction into one world. Says Moore: "The planet of the imagination is as old as we are. It has been humanity's constant companion with all of its fictional locations, like Mount Olympus and the gods, and since we first came down from the trees, basically. It seems very important, otherwise, we wouldn't have it."[1] Moore and O'Neill have revealed that they plan to map out many different eras in the League series with Allan Quatermain and Mina Murray (of Bram Stoker's Dracula) being the two constants

House of Mystery #1 (Vertigo)

House of Mystery is a pre-Silver Age property that's basically an excuse to tell one-off horror stories within an overarching plot. Think Tales from the Crypt or Twilight Zone.

It's seen a lot of revamping over the years. First, they had to drop the vamps and werewolves in response to the CCA/self-censoring thing (seriously, that's one of the primary things that had overprotective moms of the 50's shitting their knickers. Werewolves). Then thay brought the capes in with the Martian Manhunter, Superman and Mr. Mxyzptlk . Then there was the mid-80's Elvira tie-in. And the hooks into Gaiman's Sandman stuff. And blah, blah, blah.

So yeah, re-launching House of Mystery with a new writing team and format isn't exactly news. Except that the writing team is the guys who do Fables and Jack of Fables, and if you aren't reading Fables, you're missing the fuck out.

Anyway, Cain, Abel and Gregory are gone, though they kick some fan service out there to semi-'splain at he beginning of this first issue. The new premise appears to be that there's a bar that acts as a purgatory-type place for a rotating list of 5 people. There are other guests who come and go, but those five are stuck there. They (and we) don't know why they're there, how long they'll be there, or where they go when they eventually get to leave.

The only currency accepted is entertainment, stories told to amuse those who are stuck there. So you get, at least in this first issue, a different writer and a different artist for a few pages of weirdness. The first issue is, at the very least, interesting, and with the Fables pedigree, I'm willing to keep reading. At least for free. :D

KEV
http://www.megaupload.com/?d=LWQZ0NTP

Kev Hawkins is a comic book anti-hero who first appeared in an Authority one-shot in 2002.

Kev was created by Garth Ennis and Glenn Fabry and is a (former) SAS operative who is forever down on his luck. Despite all his training, Kevin is not very muscular or intelligent and is cursed with probably the worst luck of anybody on the Wildstorm Earth.

This is Garth Ennis at his best. It's hilarious, bloody and sarcastic.. Of course no female characters of any worth but Kev is one of his all time "gratest" characters to date. Just by reading the opening pages of "Kev" (the original one off) you know you're in for some awesomeness.

All of the issues of Kev are one off's and limited series set around "The Authority", a super hero league created by Warren Ellis.
The rar file contains: Kev, More Kev, The magnificent Kevin and A man called Kev
One of the funniest things I've read by Ennis.

Switchblade Honey
http://www.megaupload.com/?d=2IWA899W

Switchblade Honey is Star Trek for those with more of a cynical streak than most of Gene Roddenberry's fans. Ellis admits in his introduction right upfront that this whole thing started as a gag, sort of a riff on Star Trek, but while there's definitely a less-than-serious air about the whole thing, Switchblade Honey isn't a humor piece. It's science-fiction high adventure with more than a little bad attitude, and, courtesy of Brandon McKinney, some pretty sleek looking starships. It is a little light, and some of the ideas don't really come through as well as they could, but this is a genre rarely tackled well at all, and there are plenty of fun moments in this story.

As most things by Ellis this is some classy shit..

Last issue. It's...well, you can tell they were a bit rushed in finishing the series. Kind of disappointing, but so were the last few issues leading up to it. That'll happen when the publisher cuts 20 issues off your proposed run, I guess. That having been said, the series showed flashes of brilliance, and I'm curious to see what happens when Oliver gets a full, uncut run at another property.

Preacher - by Garth Ennis & Steve Dillon
Well, since the Invisibles and Transmetropolitan have made their way to this thread, how about we take a look at Garth Ennis's most regarded long-run series - thereby finishing up the magnum opus of each of three of the best and brightest writers out there.
What's the deal with this title? Is it a must-read or is it for selected tastes? I'm pretty open to most things, am considering reading the whole run. Is it worth the download?

And don't let the setting fool you, just cause it's set in space does not make it science fiction.

All 3 Chronicles (pdf)
http://rapidshare.com/files/134060485/Dragonlance_Chronicles.rar.html

I thought the Huma comics were very well done, I'm disappointed the series wasn't completed. The Chronicles were received pretty well by most fans, but the art is so far away from the images in my head, I've never been able to finish the comic adaptation of my favorite books.

Clive Barker's Weaveworld
http://i34.tinypic.com/16ll840.jpg

Barker turns from his usual horror to epic-length fantasy for this account of the Fugue, a magical land inhabited by descendants of supernatural beings who once shared the earth with humans. The Fugue has been woven into a carpet for protection against those who would destroy it; the death of its guardian occasions a battle between good and particularly repulsive evil forces for control of the Fugue.

Clive Barker's The Great and Secret Show
http://i33.tinypic.com/2hxltzq.jpg

Nebraska postal clerk Randolph Jaffe works in the Dead Letter Room, opening and inspecting loads of undeliverable U.S. mail. Soon, through a series of cryptic dead letters, he taps into an ethereal network of mysterious revelations which provides access to enormous power channels. The customary battle of light forces versus dark forces commences, with greedy Jaffe heading the latter, and mad yet philanthropic scientist Richard Fletcher representing the former.

I'd forgotten I had Weaveworld until I started uploading the other. I haven't even looked at the comic yet, but it's a great book.

The Great and Secret Show is my favorite Barker novel, and the comic is an excellent adaptation. The art really fits the story. If these get you interested in the books, you can find the .pdf files here.

Everville (The Second Book of The Art) will not be released as a comic, but is a continuation of the story. A third book is expected sometime this century, if Clive ever gets around to it.

Writer : Warren Ellis
Artist : Juan Jose Ryp

First there were the Seven Guns: a group of young politically-aware scientist-adventurers who modified their own bodies for street-fighting in order to take back their West Coast city from a corrupt police force, criminal local government and rapacious private security forces One died. One was crippled. The others drifted apart. And today, John Horus, the most committed of the original team, is walking into the White House. He's worked with the President on social justice issues. He is the Good Guy. But he's been thinking about his role in the country for a long time. And he's not here to say hello.

He's been asking himself the question that informs the book: where do you draw the line? If you're totally committed to the idea of covering your face and taking on a fake name and standing outside the law in order to fight for justice – where do you stop? Crime pervades society. We're all aware of corporations that behave in a criminal manner. Is that as far as you go? If, in fact, your perspective is such that you believe your President to have prosecuted an illegal war and thereby caused the deaths of thousands of people – isn't that a crime? Do you let that pass?

Quality capes limited series from Mr. Warren Ellis himself.. I liked it and completists must have it but if you're new to Ellis than I suggest to start elsewhere... Ofcourse it starts with Bush being killed so people here should like it. Included are all seven issues pluss the intro.

Scalped
http://www.megaupload.com/?d=7ZVPJUI9

Now this is a comic that everybody here needs to get, especially if you read and like "Criminal" or "100 bullets"..
While reading the backmatter of Criminal the other day I came across a little piece by criminal writer Ed Brubaker where he was hyping up another title called "Scalped". After looking further into it alot of great comic writers where mentioning how goot this title is including Garth Ennis.

Some quotes:
"SCALPED is some of the most compelling character work and crime writing I've seen in a long time."
--Ed Brubaker (CAPTAIN AMERICA, CRIMINAL)

"The best new series in years. Spread the word. Tell your friends. Talk about it. Blog about it."
--Garth Ennis (THE PUNISHER, PREACHER)

"This Native American noir is the best crime book you're not reading... The riveting tale of one mean cop with a big damn secret... (R.M. Guera's) visceral artwork will drive to your house, throw you into the back of a pickup, and haul your ass straight onto the reservation."
--Brian K. Vaughan (Y: THE LAST MAN, TV's "Lost")

"As perfect a comic book as I’ve ever read... It’s such a pleasure to read, all bad and dirty and nasty and sexy with dialogue like razors… and the art (ah, the art!)..."
--Brian Wood (DMZ, DEMO)

"If you're into HBO or Tarantino or Scorsese or Eastwood or Peckinpah, you'll love SCALPED. It'll kick your ass hard and leave you coming back for more... We need more comics like SCALPED. Buy it. Tell your friends. This is the good shit, and it deserves your support."
--Andy Diggle (THE LOSERS)

Needless to say I was intrigued and went on a download spree.. I now have all issues digitally and seven analog issues.

Dashiell Bad Horse returns to the 'rez' after fifteen years of absence, celebrating the fact by picking a fight with whomever crosses his path. Chief Lincoln Red Crow, head of the Oglala tribe and all-round local bigwig, notices our hero's enthusiasm for getting his hands dirty and hires him for the tribal police, of which he is the chief as well. Bad Horse's primary duties are the taking out of meth labs - Red Crow is about to open a $97m casino, the 'Crazy Horse', and needs to clean up the reservation's public image.

What few people know is that Bad Horse is an undercover FBI agent, whose immediate superior still means to bring Red Crow to justice for the murder of two FBI agents, thirty years ago, back when Red Crow and a few others, including Gina Bad Horse, Dashiell's estranged mother, were militant Indian-Rights activists.

Dashiell develops an obsession with Red Crow's estranged daughter, Carol, who rebels against her father and the gaping boredom on the rez by sleeping with as many men as she can.

This rar file has all 19 issues which brings us up to date.

Going to stick the ongoing stuff that doesn't suck ass into small packs of a handful of comics. I'm assuming all you fucks have fast connections - so it makes more sense to put it into one upload and if you don't read anything, who gives a shit. And with The Boys getting 50+ downloads a month, with other singles getting 10 or less... I'm figuring we need to do some cross-marketing.

Anyway - all this shit doesn't suck - so give it a try.

This includes:

Wolverine v3 #67
The second issue in an arc by Mark Millar -- the first issue is a page or two back. I'm liking it.

The Boys #21

Cross #00
Introductory half-issue of a new limited series by Garth Ennis (who does The Boys, and much other goodness).

http://www.megaupload.com/?d=N9OUVW4T - 33MB

On a side-note - The Skrull Invasion stuff is been going on for the last couple months from Marvel, and it is just god-awful, IMO. They need to stop with the big events -- they are getting worse each time lately, at this point I'm barely skimming it. Anyone else reading it and agree/disagree?

I gave up mid World War Hulk... I wouln't read the Skrull invasion if they paid me.. They did good with Civil war as that was a real Major event that duly should shape all the titles in the universe... But a Skrull invasion? seriously? That's something that one Iron man issue or some X-men should deal with in a 5 issue story arc.. This major event is really stretching it and I've noticed that in these major events they cram in a bunce of heroes that nobody has ever heard of.. I agree, enough with the big events..

I think the script is mostly based on Barry Windsor-Smith's Weapon X series - which was pretty much the first large-scale time they delved into his origin. I'll upload it for ya shortly.

I also believe they are considering a second prequel that would be based on the 4 issue limited series - which is already in the thread.

I hope they don't do a comic based on his likeness... I hate that shit normally.

You're right, it's not very good. But I'll probably still read the next one.

Wait, so... he's like gray hulk?
I'm not terribly familiar with it, but yeah he just kinda talks like a normal dude. Perfectly calm, being rational, cracking jokes... Hulk. No thanks!

couldn't sleep, so I decided to kill some time and read the Black Summer series, and wow, was it great
Ellis is a great storyteller, loved his Kev series too.

And Oak, thanks for uploading those comics in the same batch, I probably would have missed Crossed for a few months if it hadn't had been in that pack. and now, I might even go back and check out a few of the older (new) Wolverine's.

I'm not overly familiar with it either, never followed hulk that much; but I seem to remember a gray colored hulk in the Wolverine series that was very rational and controlled, wore suits, etc.

that sounds awfully close to Hank McCoy aka Beast.

Shout-out to Dolphy, Scalp is the shit. Reads like it was conceived almost as a graphic screenplay to be adapted ala sin city into a feature flick.

Oak, starten to wade through the watchmen. in your opinion will reading that book enhance the experience of the upcoming movie, or they are separate mediums, and as such it makes no difference as the movies are always different animals?

No, it definitely wasn't Beast.

And definitely read Watchmen, if for no other reason than to know what the movie should aspire to.

The hulk started his career gray I thought (without the smarty-pants persona), spent time later as a smart gray hulk (Mr. Fixit) - who was very similar to someone like the Kingpin in terms of personality. The Hulk personality in WW-Hulk was something else again. I've never had a problem with any of it. Hulk is Banner - and sometimes he is the far extreme away from him (near mindless rage) and sometimes he is a bit closer (controlled and focused anger). WW-Hulk needed a smarter hulk, or the story couldn't have happened... so did Planet Hulk (which was actually quite good, unlike WW-Hulk). Being able to change it up periodically symbolizes man's shifting struggle with his internal demons, and adds some variety.

The Watchmen comic is grate. Who knows if reading it will enhance the movie or not -- it depends on stuff no one knows... but I can't imagine it would ever be a bad move to read a good comic/book before a movie based on it.

Also, here is Weapon X - which was a 12-part series featured in Marvel Comics Presents. Here is a cbr with just the WeaponX stuff and the covers cut out from the overall Presents scans. I don't know much about movies and scripts and shit - but this is supposedly one of the stories that inspired the script the most... it also was a starting point for a lot of wolverine comics that came later, which have redone and expanded on his origin.

Yes, definitely read Watchmen. Don't even read it just because the movie is coming out, read it because it is the reason comics were invented. Read it, write a 5000 word essay about it, and then read it again. That book changed my life. Can't really say the same about Punisher War Journal no. 85.

Jamie Delano's "Narcopolis" + No Hero preview (Warren Ellis)
http://www.megaupload.com/?d=QOWKK7II

Narcopolis is a dystopian Sci Fi view on the world written by Jamie Delano (of Hellblazer fame) and drawn by Jeremy Rock.
Pretty well written with solid art this is a pretty good read although it feels like it never quite takes of like it should (could be because it is only a 4 issue limited series).
It tells the story of Gray Neighbour that works at a missile factory and likes to spend his time taking less drugs then prescribed to him, watching beastiality and questioning "The Man". In short it's a perfect book for a bunch of drug taking conspiracy theorists like the RB is full of. It gets some flack for the complexity of it's language but it only takes about one issue to get into, not much longer than that. Reminds me of alot of things from Soylent green and Brazil to Naked Lunch.
My main complaint is Delano failing to deliver exactly what he set out to deliver, read this interview for exactly what that is (http://forum.newsarama.com/showthread.php?t=141731), but like I said it's definately worth a read.

Jamie Delano is back with this new science fiction masterpiece! The British writing maestro, who helped usher in Vertigo with his launch of Hellblazer, returns to comics with his radical new vision of the future. The citizens of Narcopolis lead blessed lives, enriched by sucking down delicious MamaDream and filling their tasks to enrich society. But Gray Neighbor just isnt sure that is all life has to offer, and maybe there is more beyond the daily sluice. But when a psychestryke horrorist attack brings carnage to his life, he is thrust deeper into the edges of this utopian society and into conflict with the agents of T.R.U.S.T. who keep order. Crafting whole new chunks of language, and stunning concepts of a bizarre new world, Delano delivers a masterful new series that has to been seen to be believed! New artist Jeremy Rock provides stunningly detailed sequential pages that fully compliment this truly revolutionary book.

No Hero is a new title by Warren Ellis and Juan Jose Ryp (Black Summer team) that is to focus on a team of superheroes (through Psychedelics) and just how hard it is to be an actual superhero. So far only the preview is out and it looks good, looks like Ellis is putting alot of focus on supes beating up corrupt police and private armies lately instead of getting back to Desolation Jones like he should. Worth checking out.

From Warren Ellis & Juan Jose Ryp, the creative team that brought the explosive glory of BLACK SUMMER, comes NO HERO. In 1966, a group of superhumans emerged in San Francisco, guided by the man whose unique new drugs gave them their incredible powers. Calling themselves The Levellers, this unified front stood against street crimes and corruption, in defense of their city against any and all assault. Years have passed, and we fast-forward through the tumultuous events of those early years to today, where the idealistic Levellers have gone through four incarnations to become The Front Line. But the team is not the only thing that’s advanced over the years, and there are no easy victories when their luck finally begins to run out…

The rar includes all 4 issues of Narcopolis and the preview for No Hero

I've been waiting some time for crossed and having read the preview it doesn't look like I'll be dissapointed.. however it immediately reminded me of another series written by a similarly named man published from the same company..

Black Gas by Warren Ellis (yea, for those who haven't noticed I kinda like his writing)
http://www.megaupload.com/?d=JAMIPZLS

Warren Ellis went after the zombie craze and fucking nailed it.. Great character development, awesome gore and nice plot twists..
A good read indeed..

Black Gas by Warren Ellis & Gabriel Rearte. Horror gets a whole lot more terrifying as Warren Ellis unleashes his full-color zombie epic! A tiny little island off the East Coast of America, that sits on its own tiny little fault in the underlying tectonic plate. An odd little history ignored by almost everyone. Until the night of the big storm, and the creak in the fault line, and the release of something foul from the earth's guts, blown across the little town on Smoky Island. And the only two people on the island who were outside its reach are now trapped on a black spit of rock with a population who aren't people anymore. They started eating each other an hour ago.

Just read it again and there seem to be a couple of big similarities here.. Or perhaps it's just because of identical looking art and you know.. zombie/crazies...
Anyway seems like a good warmup for Crossed..

This rar file includes both V1 and V2
Six issues total

Blackgas wasn't too bad. Alot of it seemed like shock-filler to reach the final conclusion but I still like how it turned out.

But it did teach me an important lesson - When the zombie breakout occurs, be as stoned as possible.

Oak, starten to wade through the watchmen. in your opinion will reading that book enhance the experience of the upcoming movie, or they are separate mediums, and as such it makes no difference as the movies are always different animals?

One of the greatest things about the Watchmen is that it takes full advantage of the comic/graphic novel medium. The images are every bit as important as the words, and both are allowed to be wonderfully subtle and layered in ways that probably won't work in movie format. Not to say that the movie can't be perfectly good or even great, just that it's bound to be a very different experience.

So yeah, read it, but keep in mind that it's like visiting a major city, in that you shouldn't try to take it all in at once. Read it, then read it again a little bit later. Then wait a year or three and read it again.

Yes, that's several hours out of your life, but there's a reason that so many of us have a thick, granite hard-on for this comic, and it isn't because it's a waste of time.

Agreed. Some of the stuff was just like "I'm bored. Here's a cop getting fucked up the ass by an angry zombie."

Ellis you're better than that. Still, check it out, its worth a go.

Anyone check out any of the Robert Kirkman shit yet? I got back into reading comics because of the Walking Dead (as well as 100 Bullets, thanks Oak, you fuck!) and recently checked out Kirkman's superhero universe. The title character, Invincible, is pretty solid.

He has the charm of Spiderman with the Heroics and backstory that fits a bit closer to the Authority / Wildstorm pacing of things. Some of the expansion comics and characters, such as Brit, really step it up and got me hooked.

Oak if you can dig up some links of Invincible or Brit, I think the boys here would like it.
